Why Does my Laminate Floor Move Up and Down When Walked On?

Why Does my Laminate Floor Move Up and Down When Walked On?
This is also a very common question clients have when referring to there floating floor. The reason why a floating floor will move is basically because the sub-floor isn’t flat.

When you are walking on a floating floor you are essentially walking on a giant sheet of flooring and if the sub-floor isn’t flat or leveled, well then that sheet will flex giving you that sensation that the floor is moving.

In some cases this can be fixed my simply flattening out the sub-floor but there are many circumstances where the sub-floor is in such bad condition that there isn’t very much you can do.

It is important to keep in mind that some movement is perfectly normal when dealing with a floating floor and is accepted provided it is within industry standard.
