We are installing a beautiful wide plank Engineered hardwood floor from
http://www.satinflooring.com/ (Satin Flooring). This product is generally installed in a floating application and in this building the sound insulation requirements are 75 so we are using quiteMax as the underpad. When installing hardwood flooring in condos it is important that underpad meets the required IIC rating specified by the condo board. This helps in reducing the amount noise transmitting down to the people below.
Generally speaking the rating will vary from 55-75 depending the building.
